The format in three steps

Rules you can explain before champion select.

The run stays competitive because the success condition and the invalid-match behavior are decided before results arrive.

  1. 01

Begin with the first valid name

The route follows the current champion list in alphabetical order. Role or lane settings can narrow eligibility, but they cannot silently reorder the route.

  2. 02

Win to unlock the next champion

A counted win clears the current lock. Losses increase the attempt count and keep the same champion marked as the Roadblock.

  3. 03

    Skipped champions become owed

If the synced sequence jumps over a required champion, the missing pick is automatically marked Owed. Later matches cannot inflate route progress until the debt is resolved.

Example automated verdict

Caitlyn was skipped. The route pauses.

The match sequence moved from Braum to Camille without a valid Caitlyn clear. OneLifeHero marks Caitlyn Owed, keeps later games in the ledger, and prevents them from increasing official route progress.

Field guide

Understand the challenge, not only the counter.

OneLifeHero’s rules and statistics are designed around the format being played, so Arena evidence never masquerades as Summoner’s Rift analysis.

01

What is the LoL A-to-Z challenge?

The League of Legends A-to-Z challenge is a full-roster run played in champion-name order. On Summoner’s Rift, the usual objective is to win with the current champion before moving to the next alphabetic name.

The fixed route removes comfortable champion selection. Progress depends on adapting to unfamiliar kits, roles, builds, and matchups while preserving a clear record of how many games each clear required.

02

Solo/Duo, Flex, and Normal variants

OneLifeHero supports Ranked Solo/Duo, Ranked Flex, and Normal games as separate eligible configurations. A lane-specific challenge can also record the assigned lane so unusual picks are judged inside the player’s declared format.

Queue choice matters because rank movement, opponent quality, and team coordination are not interchangeable. The tracker labels the environment instead of mixing every Summoner’s Rift game into one unexplained total.

03

Owed champions and out-of-order games

A skipped champion is not a manual review task. Sync compares the played sequence with the expected route. When a required name is missing, that champion becomes Owed and the interface explains which match exposed the gap.

Out-of-order matches may remain visible as evidence, but they do not count toward official clears, LP progress, or performance aggregates until the configured route says they are valid. This keeps creator and personal runs comparable without pretending mistakes never happened.

04

Statistics that help the next clear

The most useful A-to-Z number is attempts to first win, not a wall of generic account statistics. OneLifeHero pairs that with current roadblock length, clear pace, LP movement, recent form, and compact build or rune evidence for Summoner’s Rift.

Performance views can also surface where deaths cluster, how different champion roles change the run, and whether the player is improving on unfamiliar picks. The route remains the main story; supporting data exists to make the next attempt smarter.

Quick answers

Questions players ask before starting.

The visible rules below are part of the page—not hidden search text—and match the behavior the tracker applies.

Do I have to win with every champion in alphabetical order?

For the standard Summoner’s Rift format, yes. A win clears the current champion; a loss keeps that champion as the active roadblock.

What if a champion is banned or unavailable?

The run keeps the current lock unless its configured rules explicitly excuse the champion. A later pick does not silently replace the missing clear.

What happens if I accidentally skip a champion?

OneLifeHero automatically marks the missing champion Owed and excludes invalid later progress until the route debt is corrected.

Can the A-to-Z challenge use Normal games?

Yes. A run can be configured for Solo/Duo, Flex, or Normal Summoner’s Rift games, with the eligible queues shown in the run record.

Playing Arena instead?

Arena uses first-place clears, items, augments, and an open champion board.
